BACKGROUND
restor3d enables surgeons to improve the reconstruction and repair of the human body through 3D printed metal implants and polymeric surgical instruments with enhanced anatomical fit and superior integrative properties. We leverage expertise and experience in 3D printing of key biomedical materials spanning a wide range of properties, seeking to improve medical device solutions.
POSITION SUMMARY
The primary function role of the patient specific design technician is to assist the design engineers with all aspects of the patient specific design process. As a patient specific design technician you will work on various stages of production patient specific cases including planning, design, and quality documentation.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBLITIES
- Principal responsibilities for the position include the following. Other duties may be assigned as necessary.
- Design 3D models of orthopedic implants and instrumentation based on engineer/surgeon-provided design inputs
- Generate initial surgical plans via placement of implants and or guides within 3D reconstruction of patient following specified design operating procedures
- Manage case workload assigned by senior team members
- Comply with documented quality system design procedures
- Assist in quality documentation including generation of engineering drawings, inspection requirements, and other required forms
EDUCATION
- Associates degree or higher in a science, technology, engineering, or related field (relevant job experience will be considered in lieu of a formal degree with high school diploma or GED)
PREFERED EXPERIENCE
- Experience working with medical imaging (MRI/CT Scans)
- Experience with image segmentation using Mimics
- Experience with 3D CAD software (e.g., Solidworks)
- Mesh-based modeler a plus (e.g., Meshmixer)
- Experience with design for manufacturing principles for additive manufacturing
- Medical anatomy and terminology
- Experience working within a quality management system strongly preferred
