Sales Engineers joining the team now will have opportunities to expand their skills and grow into leadership positions as we expand. We offer a competitive compensation package that provides excellent benefits including stock options, matching 401(k), full family health/dental/vision and short/long term disability. If you are looking for the opportunity to leverage your technical and sales skills to put your thumbprint on the sales engineering organization from the ground-up then this is it.What you will do: As a Sales Engineer you will be accountable for two key and critically important areas of our sales process. 1) Obtaining “technical wins” on sales opportunities by working with our customers’ and prospects’ technical champions to ensure they understand how RackN can help them achieve their objectives (often supporting self-trials), including: fielding technical questions on RackN product by customers; preparing and providing demos; developing new demo scenarios to highlight features based on customer requests; and building basic automation scripts or expanding on existing scripts. 2) Being the “face of the customer” when communicating back to RackN product managers and engineers; you will be an integral part of the engineering team and offer thoughtful requests on features and products that reflect your knowledge from working with customers. To succeed, you must be comfortable engaging DevOps Architects and SRE leaders at the technical and business levels and be considered a trusted advisor by these stakeholders. Our Sales Approach: RackN is a product-driven sale focused on technical leaders and self-trial. In this technical sales approach, the Sales Engineer is a key point of contact helping prospects learn about our products, map automation to business needs and build proof-of-concept integrations.Skills and Background – Technical: Knowledge/experience with datacenter automation products that combine provisioning, configuration and IaC automation; hands-on experience in infrastructure operations (comfort with Linux required); familiarity with platforms like Ansible, Terraform, Puppet/Chef, VMware, Cloud, Kubernetes.Business Skills: Enterprise technical-sales experience; comfortable presenting to individuals and groups to inform, educate and train them on RackN products and solutions; collaborate closely with a highly engaged engineering team.Experience: 1–3 years in a pre-sales environment supporting similar technologies, with interest in growing into leadership as RackN grows.Travel Expectations: This is a US remote work position (must be US based and authorized). Minimal travel is expected (about 3 days per month).Additional details: All roles have customer-facing expectations and a background check will be performed. Must be permitted to work in the US; RackN does not sponsor at this time.
