We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Engineering Director to lead our Infrastructure team, composed of Engineering Managers and Software Engineers. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of leading large-scale infrastructure projects, fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration, and ensuring the reliability, scalability, and performance of our systems. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong leadership abilities who can drive continuous improvement, mentor team members, and align infrastructure initiatives with the company's overall vision.
Your Impact
- Leadership and Team Management:
- Provide strategic direction and leadership to the infrastructure engineering team, setting clear objectives and priorities aligned with the company's long-term goals.
- Navigate and resolve ambiguity, setting priorities for multiple projects and teams, and hold individuals accountable for delivering impactful results.
- Mentor and coach team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning, collaboration, and professional growth, with a focus on building a strong leadership pipeline within the team.
- Lead by example, promoting a positive, inclusive, and resilient work environment where team members feel empowered to innovate and excel.
- Project Management:
- Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of infrastructure projects, ensuring adherence to timelines, budget, and quality standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product management, design, data, and quality assurance, to define project requirements and priorities that support our infrastructure needs.
- Identify and mitigate risks proactively, making data-driven decisions to ensure the stability and scalability of our infrastructure.
- Champion the adoption of best practices in infrastructure management, including automation, monitoring, and security.
- Technical Leadership:
- Stay abreast of industry best practices, emerging technologies, and trends in infrastructure engineering, and incorporate them into the team's technical roadmap.
- Provide deep technical guidance and expertise to the team, leading technical reviews, architectural reviews, and performance evaluations as needed.
- Foster a culture of innovation and experimentation, encouraging team members to explore new technologies and approaches to solving complex infrastructure challenges.
- Drive initiatives to enhance system reliability, performance, and scalability, ensuring that our infrastructure can support future growth.
- Process Improvement:
- Continuously evaluate and improve infrastructure processes and methodologies to increase efficiency, quality, and scalability.
- Implement agile practices and tools tailored to infrastructure projects to streamline workflows, improve collaboration, and enhance transparency.
- Drive initiatives to automate repetitive tasks, optimize resource utilization, and reduce the time to deploy infrastructure changes.
- Ensure that the infrastructure team's processes align with the overall engineering organization's best practices and objectives.
We’re looking for someone who
- Holds a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Has 7+ years of experience in software or infrastructure engineering, with 5+ years in a leadership or management role.
- Demonstrates a proven track record of successfully delivering complex infrastructure projects on time and within budget.
- Possesses a strong technical background in infrastructure, systems architecture, and cloud technologies.
- Exhibits excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams to achieve common goals.
- Has experience implementing agile methodologies and tools such as Scrum, Kanban, Jira, etc., in an infrastructure context.
- Thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapts to changing priorities and business needs.

Salary range
Salary Range: $260,000 to $310,000 USD per year.
This salary range represents the low and high end of the estimated salary range for this position. The actual base salary offered for the role is dependent on several factors. Our base salary is just one component of a comprehensive total rewards package.
