Position Summary:

The CNC Operator Assistant is responsible for assisting with the operator’s daily tasks and machining requirements. The effort includes, but is not limited to, preparing materials, tooling, and gauging needed to set up and operate machines. The assistant will assist with part inspections and machine operations when needed. This individual will help maintain a clean and safe environment, while assisting the shop floor wherever needed.

Essential Functions:

  • Performs support functions and secondary operations in manufacturing after being safely trained and familiarized with the operation and upkeep of required company equipment

  • Assists with Supervisor, Leads, Setup Operators, and Operators of the department to improve efficiency

  • Performs daily tasks that are helpful to all Operators on the shop floor. Perform daily maintenance, dump chip bins, deburring/lapping/reworking of parts, tray parts, locate setup sheets, request tooling/gauges, prepare setup carts with all necessary components, assist with machine operations and inspections.

  • Works with others to obtain a greater understanding of the manufacturing process with CNC machines.

  • Completes all paperwork required relating to specific work assignments

  • Performs other duties as assigned, to maintain efficiency throughout the company

  • Adheres to the letter and spirit of the company Code of Conduct, the AdvaMed Code, MedTech Code, and all other company policies

  • Ensures Compliance with applicable governmental laws, rules, and regulations, both in the United States and internationally, by completing introductory and annual training and maintaining knowledge of compliance as it applies to your role

  • Represents the company in a professional manner and uphold the highest standards of ethical business practices and socially responsible conduct in all interactions with other employees, customers, suppliers, and other third parties

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required

  • Mechanically-inclined

  • Strong organizational skills

  • Flexibility to work on different types of projects

  • Experience working on different types of machinery

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Attention to detail

  • Self-starter

  • Advanced critical thinking and problems-solving skills
